Bird Quest
Welcome Bird Watchers! For this quest your cell phone is all you need as “binoculars”. Be on the lookout for 5 hidden non-migratory birds native to the San Lorenzo River! I have painted on both sides of cut out wooden silhouettes capturing the birds in flight. They are not painted to size but bigger in hopes of spotting them easier.
For the rainy season the birds will be hidden under roofs in Buildings 1050 and 1060 on The Tannery Campus.
Once you find them, scan the QR code, learn about them, listen to their song and capture them. Prove to me that you found all 5 and get a prize!
This project collaborates with the Santa Cruz Bird Club, Native Animal Rescue, local author Lorrie Klosterman, The Bird School Project and nature photographers.
